Textile Art, Exhibitions and Commission

Costume Research

I have an ongoing research project in Ottoman textiles and costumes – arising from my childhood memories of the Topkapi Palace, Istanbul

Online Courses

I have written online workshops to teach my technique for the figurative felt sculptures and they have kept me busy during the last two years of the COVID pandemic.

Artists whose work inspires me:

  • Katherine Stank – concrete sculptures are particularly exciting. I have watched her video tutorials when researching the use of concrete to sculpt my own small figures.
  • Thomas Heatherwick
  • Zaha Hadid
  • Alice Kettle- I went to see Alice Kettle’s exhibition Threadbound at the Candida Stevens Gallery, Chichester 2021.
