I began the pod with white and naturally dyed merino wool.

I was not very happy with these colours so popped the pod into a bath bath of red onion skin and cutch.

The dye bath resulted in a natural green/brown colour. The pod was still a little soft so I stuffed it very well again with black bin liner plastic and threw it in the tumble dyer on hot for 15 minutes. The result was excellent – a lovely firm form.

Happy pod in its local environment.
I just love messing about with wool and working with vegetable dyes!
