Ottomani

25th Designer Crafts at the Mall galleries, London 2015

‘The history of the Ottoman Empire and its ceramics and textiles are an ongoing topic of research. The pattern/cut of the coat has been developed from close observation of Ottoman garments preserved at the Clothworkers Centre, London.

The textile designs are hand drawn freely with marker pens and then scanned and digitally printed onto Shantung silk. Machine embroidery, added once the garments and throw have been assembled, enhances the design.’
